Where a surname was recorded in Ukraine

Type a surname in Ukrainian (Cyrillic) letters, or in Latin letters to find how it is spelled in Ukrainian: the search shows the towns and villages where the state memory books of the 20th century record it, on a map of the oblasts. They are records of 1917–1960. Nineteenth-century families were recorded in parish registers. Those are what we read, with a frame number beside every name.

The answer also shows the surname in the 1649 Register of the Zaporozhian Host, when the register holds it (the 1875 edition: regiment, sotnia and page).
