Oleksandr Slobodianiuk

One file from Іванківці Хребтіївські

I started reading parish registers when I was searching for my own family. Free indexes for 19 spellings of the surname gave not one record. A file from Іванківці Хребтіївські, read straight through, gave 15 names, among them a great-great-grandfather the family had known only by his son’s patronymic. This find is on the “Proof” page.

A question about a specific book: whom to write to

Write a question about a frame or a record to pytannia@rodovidarchive.com. I answer it myself, with the book in front of me, in Ukrainian or English.

Family: 4–6 weeks; Heritage’s timing depends on scope

I name the start date for reading together with the price, before payment, and you decide whether to wait. I take on one Heritage at a time.

Your surnames and years: who sees them

• There are no living people in the tree, and I do not publish them on the site.
• The tree is closed with a password known only to the client. It is one encrypted file that opens in a browser without an internet connection.
• From you I need only what you write in the questionnaire: the list.
• There is no advertising on the site. The visit counter counts only pages and clicks: it stores nothing on your device and records no IP address and no data that identifies you.
• One email is enough for me to delete everything.
• The public examples on the site are taken from my own family and from the well-known 1891 story. In the demo tree the family is invented; the places and archives are real. I do not show other people’s trees.

Every entry is checked against the scan of the book

Software pre-reads the frames, and an entry enters the tree only after I have checked it against the scan. In a blind test it read 1 name correctly out of 3: the “Method” page.
